Entrix Computing to Offer Worldwide Sales and Support Provision for NetMail/3000 and DeskLink Electronic Mail Products for the HP3000 from 3k Associates

3k Associates whose offices are located in Springfield, Virginia have appointed Entrix Computing as their worldwide distributor for sales and support of the NetMail/3000 and DeskLink software products.

From May 1st 1999, Entrix Computing will assume responsibility for sales and support of 3k's NetMail/3000 and DeskLink products on a worldwide basis.

Enhanced support levels are planned for later in the year to utilize the resources that Entrix can offer to Netmail/3000 customers.

These changes will allow 3k Associates to concentrate on developing and maintaining the existing product line, while Entrix, who already sell and support the products in Europe extend their responsibility worldwide. American sales of NetMail/3000 and associated products will be undertaken from Salem, Oregon by US Sales Manager, Amy Floyd.

NetMail/3000 provides an Internet compliant email server on an HP3000 in the robust environment of MPE/iX. Every user, regardless of whether they have a terminal or PC client, can be given access to email. Output from applications residing on the HP3000 can be emailed to any email address anywhere as well as being integrated with fax if required. Netmail/3000 automatically processes in-bound mail messages and can seamlessly pass data to existing applications.

DeskLink is an Internet compliant gateway for users of HPDesk or HPOpenDesk.

Entrix Computing have been European distributors of NetMail/3000 for six years. Their experience in selling and supporting the products and their extensive knowledge of the HP3000 operating environment made them first choice when 3k looked for a partner to represent their software. Entrix opened a US office in Salem, Oregon in May 1998. Entrix also supplies a range of system management and data management tools which cover UNIX and NT platforms as well as MPE and many other operating systems.

3k Associates, Inc., was founded in 1987 by Chris Bartram. After spending several years doing research and work with the DDN (Defense Data Network - the military portion of the network called the ARPA Net - which later became known as the Internet), 3k Associates launched its first commercial product - NetMail/3000, in 1992. NetMail/3000 was the first Internet compatible (SMTP and MIME standard) electronic mail system ever available for the HP3000.
