Intended primarily as a medium to distribute MPE releases, some software was also developed to allow the CD to be accessed over a network - intended to allow shared access to the LaserRom (CD manual set). A neat idea, but as the client software requires TSRs and DOS-based networking stacks, modern PCs with Winsocks (typically dll-based now) could not access them. On top of that, the few sites that tried the software reported that performance was not good and a PC based server was much more economical (and efficient). -- Main.ChrisBartram - 18 May 2006
