HP3000 application files are stored in WRQ (Reflection) labelled format as binary files, compressed into the smallest possible file (to minimize your transfer time).

To download these files:

  • Tell your web client to 'save to disk' (Newer NetScape versions don't need to be told - just click on the link and select the "save to disk" option from the choices it gives you.)
  • Select a suitable local directory and filename
  • Select the item you want downloaded
  • If the item(s) are HP3000 .exe files:
    • Execute the file at the DOS prompt (they are self-extracting executables)
    • Run reflection and log on to your system as MANAGER.SYS
    • Execute the install.rcl script
    • Check the readme.txt file for further details
  • For our manuals (in .exe format):
    • At the DOS prompt, type in the name of the file (i.e. c:>desklink.exe)
      (This decompresses the file and leaves you with a NAME.LJ2 file for laserjet formatted manuals, or NAME.PS if you selected a postscript formatted file)
    • If your printer supports duplex printing, set it for duplex long-side binding.
    • At the DOS prompt, >COPY filename.lj2 LPT1 /b
      (Substitute whatever printer port you use to print to a LaserJet II compatible printer for the LPT1 above)

    (This file will also UPDATE your site if you already are a licensed NetMail/3000 user!)
  • DeskLink [latest version] trial copy (5.0Mb)
    (This file will also UPDATE your site if you already are a licensed DeskLink user!)
  • DeskLink installation supplement (Windows write document 68Kb)
